The 10 Day safari starts in Kigali Rwanda ending in Kampala, Entebbe Uganda.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive at Kigali city
On arrival at the airport, you will be welcomed by our professional driver/guide and you will be briefed shortly about the trip and head to the Kigali city for a tour before resting at the Hotel. You will visit the King’s palace, Gisozi genocide memorial, National Museum, craft shops and Markets. You will then proceed to the Hotel for relaxation, dinner and overnight in Kigali city.
Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will get on to the road transferring to Volcanoes national park as you enjoy the beautiful countryside of this country of a thousand hills. The 2-3 hour journey will soon get you to your destination allowing you to check in at the lodge during lunch hours. After your lunch, you will have a nature walk into the volcanoes National park where on a lucky day you will meet forest hogs, small antelopes and many bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking at Volcanoes National Park
This day begins with an early breakfast at the lodge and then transfer to the park offices to be briefed with other tourists. You will be put into groups of 8 people and allocated Gorilla groups to track. You will head into the forest led by the guides and begin the search for habituated mountain Gorillas. Be sure to carry your tracking gear to avoid challenges during this vigorous hike into the mountains. You will eventually meet the Gorillas and be allowed to spend a full hour in their presence as you take pictures and generally interact with them as guided during the briefing. You will later return to the starting point and drive off to the lodge to freshen up and have your lunch. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.
Day 4: Golden Monkey Tracking – Transfer to Bwindi
After breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to the briefing point for another exciting moment with the rarest primates the Golden Monkeys. The briefing is conducted by the park officers who will later guide you to the forest searching for the shy Golden monkeys in their natural habitat. On finding them, you will be allowed to spend one full hour in their presence as you monitor their natural behaviour. You will then return to the starting point and head to the lodge and transfer to Bwindi National Park crossing to Uganda through Gatuna Border. You will arrive later in the evening and check in at the lodge close to the sector where the Gorillas live. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 5: Gorilla Tracking –Bwindi
Breakfast will be served early to catch up with briefing at 7:00am where you will be guided on the rules of tracking the Gorillas before heading into the forest in search for the habituated mountain Gorillas. After a few hours of trekking into the high mountains, you will meet the Gorillas as they do their daily activities and be allowed one full hour in their presence interacting together. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation saving some energy for the next day. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After a heavy breakfast at the lodge, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park through Ishasha sector commonly known for the tree climbing lions. You will arrive in lunch hours and head to the lodge to check in, have lunch and launch a game drive to catch up with the African predators and a variety of wildlife including the buffalos, elephants, giraffes, water bucks, warthogs as they try to catch a meal for the day. Retire at the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Full day at Queen Elizabeth National Park
After your breakfast this morning, you will set off with your guide and head to the park for a morning game drive to catch up with early risers as they try to get a meal for the day. Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to a wide range of wildlife including, Elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, warthogs, hyenas, leopards, waterbucks, baboons and several antelopes among others as you will encounter during the drive. Our experienced guides will take you to the best spots for you to have all your expectations accomplished. You will then retire at the lodge for a little break and lunch and then launch a boat cruise to the famous Kazinga channel. Her you will get to see the Hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and several wildlife species at the banks of the river and in the water swimming. Retire at the lodge later where your dinner will be served and spend a night.
Day 8: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After your breakfast this morning, you will set of transferring to Kibale National Park the primate capital of East Africa. You will arrive in the afternoon and head out for a nature walk at Bigodi Swamp where you will encounter several primate and plant species. Retire at the lodge later on and prepare for Chimp tracking the following morning. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 9: Chimpanzee Tracking
After breakfast at the lodge, you will head to the park offices for briefing by the park rangers on the dos and don’ts of Chimpanzee trekking. You will then be led into the forest in search for habituated chimpanzees. You will soon meet the chimps and be allowed one full hour interaction with them taking pictures and watching their natural behaviour in the forest. This park has over 13 different primate species which will be encountered during the chimp tracking exercise. You will later return to the starting point and head to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Spend the afternoon at leisure at the lodge and later have your dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 10: Departure
After having your early breakfast, you will together with your driver set off for Kampala arriving in the afternoon. Lunch will be in Kampala and thereafter proceed to Entebbe international airport for departure.
