Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Ruhengeri
Our representative who will also be your tour guide will pick you from the airport and quickly brief you on the trip itinerary and proceed to the beautiful Kigali city. You will be led to the genocide memorial site where thousands of innocent people were buried in the 1990’s. Stories through audios and books will be shared to enable you understand the mayhem that Rwanda went through to become what it is today. You will then visit the city markets to grab some fruits and also to explore the daily lives of the Rwandese. You will then have lunch and set off to the North of Rwanda and check in at the lodge in the Volcanoes Park near the place where you will do Gorilla tracking. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla tracking
After breakfast at the lodge, you will immediately head to the briefing point with your guide to meet other tourists for guidance and be grouped into 8 individuals. You will then hit the jungle in search for habituated Gorillas which you will meet in a few hours depending on their movement. The trek will reward you with an encounter with a group of Gorillas and you will be allowed for one full hour in the presence as you learn about their unique behaviour. You will later return to the starting point and head to your lodge for lunch and relaxation from the long trek. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the lodge.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking
Breakfast will be served very early and then head to the briefing point at the park where other guests will be gathered. You will soon be guided into the forest in search for the tiny shy monkeys whose name is traced on their golden fur. Golden monkey tracking is similar to Gorilla tracking and soon your curiosity will be answered when you set eyes to the family. The monkeys are mostly seen in the trees playing and feeding as a family. You will later return to the starting point to meet your guide to drive off to the lodge for lunch and proceed to Kigali city for departure.
